A group of secondary school students from the Levante school in Algeciras and the Lycée Amiot in Auxerre, France, had a guided tour of the Casa de la Memoria last week, accompanied by four teachers. The French students are studying for the ‘Bachibac’ in Spanish and French, which includes lessons in both languages and courses from both educational systems.
The tour was guided by Association members Antonio Morales and Juan Manuel Pizarro, who also talked to the students about Spain during the Republic, the war and the post-war period, and discussed refugees, exiles and the anti-fascist participation of Spanish men and women in the French resistance.
